What we found out about Grizzly Bears :-)

"The baby bears are called cubs." said Elliott.

Ryan and Marcus said "The bears eat fish and their favourite is salmon."  Ryan then added "I have salmon wellington for my tea!!!".  (yum yum Ryan)

"Grizzly Bears climb trees!" said Ellie Mae and Ellie.

"The bears have a black, wet nose!" said Zachary and Toby.

Adam and Ruby remembered that, "Grizzly Bears have sharp teeth!".

"They are brown and have two furry ears!" said Alysha.

What a lot we've learnt!

Circus Skills

Today we had a fun circus skills session! We had a go at spinning plates, juggling sticks, juggling with scarves and many other things!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt

This week we are reading the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.  On Tuesday we made a story map on one of our tables to help us retell the story. It's a really good story to retell with the puppets!

Our Maths Lesson

On Tuesday we  practised using the words more than  and less than.  We played a snowman game to see if we needed to add more or take some away to make less snowman body parts!

Grizzly Bears

Last week we learnt all about polar bears, where they live, what they eat and how they grow.  This week we are learning about grizzly or brown bears and talking about how they are similar and how they are different to polar bears.  We will let you know later in the week what we find out, but today we have been making pictures and models of them!

Where has all the snow gone?

Yesterday we put snow in our small world tray, but today when we came into school it had gone! The tray felt wet and cold so we decided that the snow had melted and left a puddle of water.

Number Hunt

Today we went looking for numbers around our school to share with our quad blogging friends at Athersley South Primary School!

Snowy experiment!

After playing in the snow yesterday, today we learnt about polar bears and where they live. We went outside to collect some real snow to put in our small world tray!

Putting snow on our small world table.

Will the snow still be here in the morning?

We needed to wear gloves as our hands were getting cold!

Snowy Weather!

We've been out exploring in the snow this morning. The snow felt very cold but we still had fun building snow men, making snow angels and having a snowball fight!
Kyran rolled a really big head for his snowman!
Kiera made a snow angel!

Is the head going to stay on boys?

Drew and Ruby found sticks for their snowman's arms!
Lots of snowy fun!
Snowball fun!
